Full-time lockdown is being observed in Chitral

Since the COVID-19 Pendamic has shaken the whole world, Pakistan is also suffering from it. As of 31 March 2020, the death toll has reached 25 and reported cases have exceeded 1800.

The country is facing a lockdown in its all cities and Chitral is also under lockdown since the last week of March. So far, no cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Chitral but the administration is doing its best to practice the safety measures.

Chitrali people, being responsible citizens are cooperating with the district administration to keep the lockdown. All of the markets are closed other than grocery stores, vegetable shops, meat shops, and medical stores. People are staying inside their houses until any severe need for grocery or food items.

Road access to Chitral is also tough. Police Check posts have been established at different entry points for Chitral until the main city trying to facilitate the Chitrali travelers from the downstream.

This is the only way we can prevent the spread of this virus since there is no vaccine available for it so far. The Cooperation has been great so far by the citizen and the same attitude is expected until the pandemic gets over.
